Wow, have we been busy! Along with the lessons and work of the classroom, students have participated in work share, "going outs", and presenting reports.
It was so wonderful to see so many parents at work share! Students enjoyed showing off their work which included puzzle maps, timelines, the checkerboard, parts of a flower and many, many more.
Have you ever gotten on the wrong bus and gone the wrong way? That’s what happened last week on the way back from Target. Students have a lot of work to do to plan a "going out" (Thank you to everyone who signed up to chaperone!!) Even with all that preparation we are able to learn more. What a great (safe) experience! Students have been able to go to the library, some have gone to the zoo and others to Target. Come check out the "Going Out" mural in the elementary hallway, painted by Jenny Kordosky’s mural camp over the summer.
In lieu of dressing up for Halloween, Zumbro students had "Hero Day" Some of the older students chose a person that they look up to and presented a report in costume. They spent time researching, writing and rewriting reports, painting and binding it all together. They told stories of Sacagawea, Picasso, parents, Abraham Lincoln and others. They shared why these people are good role models and why they chose them to be their heroes. Can you guess the hero below?
