Our adolescent student planners have been working hard but they cannot set up for this soirée alone. We need volunteers to help set up and clean up for the event!

A student created project for class to raise money for the animals of GRS by selling used clothes donated by students.
The Theory of Knowledge class will be hosting their annual Exhibition. Each student will have an exhibition of three artifacts centered on a Theory of Knowledge question of their choice. Students will act as hosts and presenters of their exhibition, sharing their artifacts and insights. It will be a super fun morning for any and all curious minds!

We've had the pleasure of working with birder Amy Simso Dean during elementary Environmental Ed workshop. Amy leads the MN Youth Birdwatching Club, which has received grants for 2023 to offer *free* guided birding opportunities for youth and families. This is a reminder that our year end BIPOC gathering will take place tomorrow at Griggs park from 11:30am - 3pm.
Pizza, snacks, and water will be provided. Vegan, vegetarian, and gluten free options will be available.
The plan is to meet outside at the blacktop area and walk over to griggs park together as a group at 11:30am. Students are expected to remain at the park until we return to school together at 3pm.

Thursday, June 1, 10:30 am - 12:30 pm: Rehearsal for Graduation; Roseville Lutheran Church–1215 Roselawn Ave W, Roseville, MN 55113. Roseville Lutheran Church is located south of Hwy 36 between Hamline and Lexington Avenue and has plenty of on-site parking. Attendance is mandatory.
Thursday, June 1, 2023, 7 - 10pm: Prom at SPA, Station 10 at 754 Randolph Ave, St Paul, MN 55102. Theme: Old Hollywood. Any GRS juniors or seniors can attend; each junior and senior is permitted 1 plus one. Tickets during the month of May are $35, but if you buy them the day of prom, they will be $40. Scholarships: Need-based scholarships to cover the cost of prom are available. Reach out to Nick Beerman or Matt McElrath if you would like to request a scholarship.
Monday, June 5 - Thursday, June 8: Spring Intensives. Seniors who have signed up for Spring Intensives and have not finished please speak with Nick Beermann.
Friday, June 9, 6pm: Commencement, Roseville Lutheran Church (directions and a map) (Graduates should arrive no later than 4:30 pm to get their flowers, group picture, and line-up for the processional.) Please see email with further details on arrivals for guests and individual family photos.
Graduation Attire for Graduates - Students will be wearing Navy Blue caps and gowns distributed at the end of Graduation Rehearsal. Be sure to dress for the weather under your gown. Students are able to decorate their caps once received. The ceremony is generally over by 7:45 pm, with light refreshments being served after the ceremony.

In the GRS community, it’s a tradition for the 11th year families to plan graduation for the senior class. In turn, that means next year, when your students graduate, you can rest assured knowing everything is being taken care of by the junior class families.
We are seeking junior parent volunteers for various tasks before, during and after the Graduation ceremony such as event coordinators, decorators, ushers and more. For event coordination, this would involve managing event details, ordering graduation materials, and day-of logistics.

Cleaning out your storage for spring? The art department is looking for any (working) film cameras that you may be looking to unload. As Ultimate seasons are coming to an end, we would like to keep the spirit of the game going throughout the summer! Come learn from one of our very own seasoned veterans, Scott Alsleben this summer. Every two seconds someone in the US needs blood. Due to the vitality of blood for everyday life, it cannot be manufactured and can only be donated. On May 17th you could be one of the 6.8 million people who donate blood and help save countless lives. Your single donation can save the lives of many, helping much more than just one individual. While we are planning to have a large student turnout, and we ask that you encourage your teen students (Ages 18, and 16 and 17 with parent permission) to donate as well, we need participation from the whole community to make the biggest impact possible.
That means YOU parents!
Last week, we had our first 10 donors sign-up and we are looking for 30 more to help us reach our goal of collecting 26 pints!
